Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Speedy Power for a Engineer, to carry out the service, refurbishment, repair and maintenance of hire equipment that is on hire and customer equipment that is on their own site. To deliver the service, refurbishment, repair and maintenance of hire and customer equipment in the agreed timescale.

Main Responsibilities

 Carry out the Service and maintenance and/or repair to hire fleet equipment as detailed by the Service Manager

·         Accurately record all work on the job card or Maintenance Report

·         Ensuring all work carried out to a very high standard

·         Ensuring that all work undertaken is safe and in line with Speedy policies including health and safety

·         Assisting with the training of new Service Engineers if requested to do so

·         Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair requirements of the company’s product range

o    Assisting Drivers, when required, with safe loading, securing and unloading if applicable

o    Escalate or tend to any identified safety or environmental risks in the depot to the Service Manager

·         Dealing with enquiries in a professional and friendly manner and informing Service Manager of any problems when they arise

·         Contributing to regular reviews led by the Service Manager to improve the service levels, performance and productivity

·         Assisting with keeping work areas safe, tidy and in good order

·         Wearing full uniform at all times and  PPE as required

·         Conducting additional ad hoc duties as may be required

·         Following all company procedures and policies in company handbook

·         Attend all relevant training as directed

Ideal Candidate

·       Experience of maintenance & repair of Power Equipment (Pumps, Generators, Compressors)

·       A good knowledge of diesel engines

·       Organisational and communication skills

·       High level of integrity

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure

·       Ability to prioritise workload

·       Capable of taking ownership and responsibility

·       Team Player

·       A willingness to work outside normal working hours when required

·      Full driving licence
