NDC Warehouse Manager

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our new National Distribution Centre (NDC) for a Warehouse Manager to ensure that all orders are fulfilled and delivered in a timely manner along with acting as custodian of all assets stored within the NDC, Warehouse and yard.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring trunking of assets to other MSC’s are completed on time in full.
  • Prompt completion of relevant reports, e.g. stock takes, Employee attendance, etc
  • Ensuring that all customer orders are fulfilled by the NDC are delivered on time in full to highest standards of excellence.
  • Ensuring that all MSC warehouse operations, Employee’s and products are safe and comply with Speedy safety standards.
  • Effective management of equipment / assets
  • Providing relevant information to Company departments as required, e.g. furnishing payroll with Employee salary and attendance information
  • Ensuring that the NDC/Warehouse is consistently presented to a high level to promote a professional image, including wearing of Speedy Hire uniform by all Employees and that the hire fleet are presented in accordance with Company standards
  • Ensuring that all equipment leaving the MSC is despatched to Customers in a safe working condition and includes all relevant accessories, safety instructions and test certificates
  • Undertaking regular reviews of the warehouses compliance with all regulation and Company Standards relating to Health and Safety, environmental matters and the welfare of Employees
  • Ensuring that all operatives are given and sign the Health & Safety policy document and that they work to it at all times
  • Organising and managing Superstore and Express asset and stock counts on a rolling and annual basis
  • Ensuring that the NDC transfers available equipment to other requesting Superstore and Express in line with Customer needs
  • Overseeing the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork and ensuring that the procedure for stock transfers, etc. is followed correctly
  • The warehouse manager reports directly to the Facilities Manager and must inform the Manager at all times of the days on goings and provide reports as and when necessary
  • Co-ordinate the receiving of goods at the distribution centre ensuring correct paperwork is completed
  • Pick and transferring goods against ARP/Stock and customer orders
  • Loading and unloading all Route to asset vehicles
  • Using the NDC IT systems to effectively process administration work
  • Leading the warehouse team in regular reviews to improve Customer service, performance and productivity
  • Conducting Employee job chats on a regular basis
  • Managing Employee disciplinary issues at NDC level and reporting issues
  • Planning of Employee’s working schedules
  • Ensuring that all Employees receive an induction and training applicable to their role
  • Monitoring and actioning recruitment needs, and warehouse performance on attendance/ absence and retention of Employees
  • Motivation and training of all warehouse based Employees
