Test and Run

Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Test and Run Technician to provide overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of hire equipment returned by depots in the region and ensuring that all work is undertaken is safe and complies with Speedy Safety Standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the highest standards of equipment inspection and maintenance to minimise the incidence and cost of breakdowns on-site
  • Prompt reporting of damages on returned hire equipment and assisting in the identification of responsibility
  • Fleeting of new hire fleet delivered to the depot
  • Reporting to Depot Manager on spares requirements
    • Ensuring that all equipment is cleaned so as to be presented to customers in accordance with company standards
  • Visiting customer sites when required to repair faulty hire equipment and carry out safety demonstrations, where required
  • Ensuring that sufficient volumes of core hire equipment is available at all times
  • Keeping the workshop and all depot storage areas safe, tidy and well organised at all times
  • Carrying out comprehensive safety checks of all hire equipment before despatch/when returned and completing all necessary documentation
  • Having an up-to-date understanding of the Company, Health and Safety and the legal requirements for safety inspections
  • Assisting Drivers, when required, with safe loading, securing and unloading
  • Identifying any safety risks in the depot/workshop to the Depot Manager
  • Completing all administration documents in a timely manner
  • Carry out installations of basic temporary traffic signal systems incorporating signing and guarding and operate within an on call rota to service, where required
  • Supporting and communicating effectively with the depot team
  • Contributing to the regular review of the depot’s procedures to improve customer service, performance and productivity
  • Wearing full uniform and PPE at all times
  • Maintaining knowledge of the group’s equipment for hire/sale and activities
  • Conducting additional ad hoc duties as may be required
  • Following all company procedures and policies in company handbook
  • Ensuring all relevant training has been attended
  • Supporting and communicating effectively with the depot team
Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a technical knowledge of hire/asset equipment. You should have the ability to test and repair equipment to the highest standard, taking full ownership and responsibility in your work.
