What does Cancun mean for business?
There is a lot of talk about the outcome of the snappily-named COP16 meeting that was recently held in Cancun, Mexico. This is the latest in a series of meetings that is aimed at getting agreement on reducing the emission of green house gases. After the less than wholly successful meeting in Copenhagen in 2009, this one seems to have made some progress. How, though, will what was agreed affect business?

Faced with the challenges of diminishing resources, population growth and sustainable development the water industry must first establish something which I don’t believe anyone has truly set out to answer – what is the optimum level of water people need to use to maintain a high quality of life? The industry needs to think about the outcomes people want from using water and then determine the best ways of delivering those outcomes.
