Risk assessments of potentially contaminated land are required:
  • When the land is a business asset which is about to change ownership, or is to be used to raise finance.
  • When the land is to be developed for a beneficial use.
  • As part of some permitting requirements.
We carry out such assessments in a tiered approach:
  • Tier 1, non-invasive Preliminary Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Tier 2, invasive site assessments to include sampling soil, surface-  and ground waters an,
  • Tier 3, detailed invasive delineation of site “hot spots” discovered during the Tier 2 investigation.

We will then develop with our client the remedial options to deal with contamination, and develop the preferred option into a remedial strategy with costs, and end points agreed with the regulators.
