Back in 2014 I saw a driving job advertised for a company called Speedy. I had previous experience in being a delivery driver and knew that this was what I wanted to do. During my first week I was put up in a hotel for training - it was then that I realised there is no such thing as 'just a driver'. We are the face of the company and capable of doing a lot more than just driving.

Fast forward a couple of months and I was ready for more. Speedy offers a great range of training courses for all job roles. Being a three person store we all had to muck in and help where we could. So I went through all the training on how to service the equipment, to help give me a better understanding of how things worked. I was happy being a driver who could help cover where needed. 

Then the big question was asked to me... would I cover the store when the manager was away? This was the first time I had been in this situation, and I loved it! It left me wanting more. I decided there and then that being a Speedy Manager was where I wanted to be. I put my name down for any/all training available to help me achieve my goal. 

And now, after 6 years of being a driver I have recently been promoted to Depot Manager. I now have my own store, my own team and I'm looking forward to what the future brings.
