A DevOps Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of new software, enhancing automated development, testing and delivery processes.

The principal objectives of the role are:

  • To accelerate the delivery time of software through development, testing and deployment
  • To improve the performance of our in-house developed software systems.
  • To improve security of our environments and software.
  • To migrate from legacy infrastructure and keep systems and software up-to-date.

The duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Automate build and release pipelines.
  • Set up development tooling and infrastructure.
  • Work with ops and third parties as required.
  • Keep dependent software packages up-to-date.
  • Setting up automated testing frameworks for the test team.
  • Work with DBAs and Ops to migrate servers.
  • Work with developers to identify necessary Azure resources and automate their provisioning.
  • Document automation processes.
  • Work with development team and key stake holders to create plan for monitoring Azure resources.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to capture, analyze, and derive DevOps requirements.
  • Responsible for database migrations and maintenance

You will be working across three cross functional agile development teams and must be pro-active at improving infrastructure, tooling and deployment processes to accelerate development practices. A good DevOps engineer will be motivated to help others do their job better and to continuously improve development, testing and deployment processes.

  • Azure DevOps
  • Deployment/release pipeline automation
  • Peer code reviews
  • Version control (Git)
  • Appreciation of service excellence
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

Desirable

  • Software security experience
  • IIS performance tuning
  • SQL server
  • Knowledge of automated testing (NUnit / xUnit / Specflow / Selenium)
  • Microsoft Certification
  • Awareness of agile development methodologies
