The Strategic Accounts team are looking for a graduate to contribute to business growth in the role of a Graduate Account Manager - Rail and Infrastructure. In this role you will be responsible for developing business opportunities, increasing brand awareness and cross company opportunities to accelerate performance and profitability. 

Developing strong internal and external relationships across the group along with an analytical mind-set and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines will be essential in order to shape and implement strategy to develop and grow the revenue of a portfolio of strategic accounts across all Speedy product categories and service lines.  The successful candidate will need to develop an understanding of how all areas of the business operate and work together to achieve the strategic vision of the company.  They will also need to develop knowledge of the customer’s working sectors therefore being able to identify the relevance of the wider Speedy hire product range to the customer. 

What do we look for?

The successful candidate will report directly to the Strategic Account Director and interact with other members of the Strategic Accounts team.  Some examples of your responsibilities will be:

  • Developing end-to-end solutions for strategic account clients, predominantly in the Rail and Infrastructure markets
  • Communication to and from strategic account clients and any information that supports growth of the account(s)
  • To interface with customers at the investigation, development, implementation and operational stages for all opportunities
  • Sponsor customer contact for implementation of new/innovative solutions
  • Working collaboratively with relevant internal departments to identify new opportunities and assist in responding to enquiries/proposals
  • Establishment and reinforcement of strategic contact network
  • Development of strategic account plans in line with business objectives
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date information on strategic account clients
  • Effective engagement in company marketing campaigns
  • Learning how to interface with customers across different segments at all levels of the organisation 
  • To gain an understanding of the full product and service range available to our customer base 
  • To gain experience in presenting solutions to customers 
  • Other duties as required

What do we require from candidates?

Essential:

  • The ability to adapt and act confidently in any given situation
  • Dynamic and self-motivated with the ability to adapt confidently in any client situation
  • Good/developing commercial acumen
  • Presentation skills
  • Good/developing negotiation skills
  • Sound financial understanding to help support targeted returns on investment
  • The ability to use IT as a key business tool
  • Committed and target/ action focused 
  • Be willing to travel with overnight stays as this is a national role
  • Minimum degree classification of a 2:2 or above in any degree subject

Desirable:

  • In interest in the construction/engineering/hire industry
  • Work experience of any form
  • A full driving licence 

As well as completing your day-to-day role within the Strategic Accounts team you will also be part of the Speedy two year Specialist Graduate Development Programme.
