Desktop Engineer - Haydock - Monday to Friday - 07.30-17.30

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Desktop Engineer, whose responsibility will lie in the provision of support across the Desktop estate. This will involve resolving issues on laptops, PC’s, peripherals, network devices, infrastructure and relocations. Additionally, where the business need dictates, you will provide a flexible resource option for the Service Desk.

  • Resolve issues logged by the Service Desk
  • Ensure SLAs are adhered to
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams
  • Liaise with external resources when required
  • Rebuild, repair or upgrade / patch operating system when necessary
  • Install new applications when required
  • Communicate with Supply Chain to ensure provision of equipment
  • Installation of PC’s, laptops and all peripherals
  • Patching and installing communication devices
  • Where requested assist Service Desk Agents with receiving, logging and resolving incidents / requests in line with associated documented processes
  • Receiving, updating and closing incidents and requests in the IT service management software
  • Conducting additional ad hoc duties as required
  • Supporting your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver. 

Essential

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Good PC skills
  • Appreciation of customer service excellence
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated

Desirable

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practises
  • Experience in a Desktop Support role
  • Experience of working on a Service Desk
  • Experience of using IT Service Management software, preferably House on the Hill
