Summary

An exciting position has arisen in our Risk and Assurance Team for a Corporate Assurance Manager. The position, supported by two direct reports, will take responsibility for managing the group risk matrix process and providing assurance to the Board through the internal audit plan. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen interest in progressing their career within Internal Audit, Corporate Assurance and Risk, or Finance fields.

Main Responsibilities

Contribute to the recruitment and development of the Risk and Assurance team

Contribute to the selection process and management of co-sourced assurance providers

Support and facilitate the Speedy risk management process including risk register refresh on a regular basis (Management and ownership of individual risks to remain with relevant business areas)

Development of the annual internal audit plan in conjunction with the Depot Assurance Team Leader

Manage the delivery of the corporate internal audit plan to time and budget including planning, fieldwork and reporting phases

Regular follow up of recommendations for improvement made through reporting process

Coaching and developing team members (both direct reports and the wider Risk and Assurance team) to deliver excellence.

Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant professional qualification (CCAB/CMIIA or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable technical expertise in relation to risk management and internal audit processes
  • Understanding of control frameworks and is able to identify key risks and controls
  • Can identify and articulate the key risks of a business
  • Shows intelligence and pragmatism in developing commercially viable solutions
  • Builds honest and open relations with senior management
  • Strong influencing skills capable of obtaining commitment to new ways of working
  • Writes accurate, well presented reports for senior management
  • Demonstrates tenacity in the face of challenge
  • Strong team player but with ability to take personal responsibility for delivery of own work
  • Sound people management skills with the personality to motivate and inspire
  • Good planning and organising skills essential, able to demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines to produce reports and results
  • Ability to be trusted when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
