Summary

The Risk and Assurance Team are looking for a graduate who can support the team in their objective to provide the business with timely, accurate, targeted and independent assurance over areas under review as part of the agreed Corporate Audit Plan.  Developing strong relationships across Speedy with both individuals and departments will be essential in order to support the completion of internal audits, support the Depot audit team and to assist in general risk and assurance activity.

Main Responsibilities

As well as completing your day-to-day role within the Risk and Assurance Team you will also be required to complete the two year Speedy Graduate Development Programme.

What is Risk and Assurance?

Risk and Assurance at Speedy can be split into two:

  • Corporate Assurance: This consists of evaluating a department’s procedures and providing assurance to the Audit Committee. The effect of the audit is felt business wide and is a vital tool in helping Speedy develop and improve.
  • Depot Assurance:  This consists of evaluating the Speedy depots, ensuring that each depot is operating to the highest standard.

What do we look for?

A successful candidate will operate with a high level of trust, integrity, professionalism and objectivity. You will have the ability to communicate both within the R&A team and the wider business with a desire to learn and problem solve.  Being able to work under pressure and produce reports and results to strict deadlines is essential along with the capacity for using your initiative and being highly motivated to succeed in a fast paced and changing environment.  You will also be required to:

  • Show flexibility in order to travel where required
  • Demonstrate commitment to obtain either the ACCA or CIMA qualifications
  • Have advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Have obtained 2:2 degree or above, ideally in a business related subject
