HOISTING SOLUTIONS
Hoisting equipment is invaluable for any high-rise construction site. It provides significant efficiency and safety benefits to the site as a whole and individual users. The process of hoisting can also keep projects running smoothly, on time, and within budget.
What is a hoist?
A vertical hoist is used on construction sites to transport materials, tools, and equipment up to a height—and back down to ground level again—during vertical access tasks. This could be building projects, refurbishment, or general maintenance (such as roofing, cladding jobs, or even cleaning tasks).
They’re a robust and adaptable design, meaning they’re suitable for all vertical access jobs, whether this be new construction or maintenance/refurbishment.
A range of different hoists are available, for various sizes, weight limits, and load types. So, it is critical to assess the job at hand before you hire.
Some restrict users to only hoisting construction supplies and tools, but multi-use hoists are also available which can move both materials and people up and down the building.

The benefits of a vertical hoist
Speed & efficiency
Transporting loads via a hoist, rather than manually, can speed up getting products and tools from A to B. It means workers don’t have to manually carry anything or leave their position to constantly come up and down the building.
Safety
A reduction in manual carrying also means a reduction in health and safety risks. While some still remain, and a risk assessment should always be undertaken, there is a reduced manual handling and injury risk because of the reduced physical strain on workers.
Safe vertical transportation via hoists also minimises fall risks, and secure controls ensure the hoists cannot be operated by anyone not cleared to do so.
Ease
Hoists are easy to load and unload. They have multiple stop points, meaning it is really simple to stop the hoist safely where it needs to be unloaded or loaded. This reduces strain for users, and reduces handling times.
