A former Brighton and Hove Albion favourite turned football pundit has made appeared at a £100,000 equipment rental superstore open day, which is celebrating a successful first three months of trading.

Steve Claridge, who enjoyed a season long spell with Brighton and Hove Albion in 2004 and is now the BBC’s expert pundit on the Football League, attended Speedy Services’ Brighton superstore open day on Friday June 29, on Newtown Road.

As well as the opportunity to meet and greet the former seagulls striker, customers received detailed product and service demonstrations from certified experts, a complimentary lunch and the opportunity to compete in a darts competition following the company’s successful sponsorship of the UK Open.

Store general manager, Carl Hendy, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Steve our Brighton store open day. We strive to give our customers the best advice and service, so we hope they found the day both informative and entertaining.

Speedy Services is the UK’s leading equipment rental and support services provider, and their new Brighton superstore has given the local economy a new lease of life by creating ten positions and bringing Speedy’s primary product sectors under one roof.

The store stocks in excess of £750,000 of equipment ready for hire.
Carl continued: “This store is the culmination of a great deal of planning and investment and we are delighted to have such a strong presence in the city. We are hopeful that more job opportunities will be created as the business grows.”

The Brighton superstore is one of nine sites to be built by Speedy across the UK this year.
