Speedy Services is well on the way to hitting its investment target by the end of the financial year, after revealing a £12 million spend in the first quarter of the year.

A series of ‘landmark investments’ have maintained Speedy’s position as leaders in innovation, offering customers its most advanced portfolio of products to date.

Between April and July of this financial year, Speedy has developed strong relationships with world leading brands, enabling development in several of its divisions.

Those include Skyjack UK Limited – a world leader in the aerial lift industry with over 30 per cent of the global market – courtesy of more than £4 million in new batches of 19ft and 26ft electrical scissor lifts.

Other partnerships developed over the first quarter include SDMO Energy Ltd – the third largest manufacturer worldwide of generating sets.

A £2.5million investment in SDMO has helped to develop Speedy’s Power Division. Not only has it given reassurance and stability to facilities managers but it has also helped to establish Speedy’s generator supply as one of the most modern and efficient in the UK.

Andy Connor, supply chain director at Speedy, said: “The first quarter has already seen a very positive start for Speedy’s investment plans for 2012.  Our investments demonstrate our commitment to putting the needs of customers first and fill necessary gaps in the market to meet all requirements.

We are already on track for reaching our target for the year and have various plans in place to continue our product improvement, innovation and investment programme. We look forward to building further relationships with the industry’s leading brands over the course of 2012.”
