Speedy, the UK’s leading provider of equipment rental and support services, has been appointed as an official partner and equipment supplier of this year’s Marussia Virgin Racing Weekend festival taking place this weekend (7–10 July).

Speedy will supply a comprehensive package of equipment including generators, crowd-control barriers and lighting to the yearly event being held at Stowe school in Buckingham which boasts Richard Branson, founder of Virgin, as a member of its alumni.

The festival was created by Marussia Virgin Racing to complement the British Grand Prix weekend which takes place at Silverstone from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July at Silverstone – a mile away from Stowe school. The weekend’s action will be shown on big screens around the site and festival-goers will also benefit from express transfers to the circuit

The racing, music and food festival will give fans the chance to get close to the drivers and the team including Marussia Virgin F1 drivers Timo Glock and Jerome D’Ambrosio.

The partnership between Speedy and Marussia Virgin Racing has been managed by Speedy’s events and exhibition team which since its creation in early 2010 has supported over 150 events including the Manchester International Festival, Glastonbury and the Take That tour.

Derek Bailey, trade market director at Speedy said: “With our dedicated events and exhibition team we are perfectly placed to support the Marussia Virgin Racing Festival. Events like this can be something of a logistical challenge, but our world-class expertise will help ensure that it will be a great success.”

Mike Scudamore from the sponsorship acquisitions team from Marussia Virgin Racing said: “Partnering with Speedy not only means that we can source the equipment we need, when we need it, it also means that we can benefit from Speedy’s wealth of experience of safely managing events of this scale.”
