Falls from height remain one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities and serious injuries in the UK. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), falls from height accounted for 40 fatalities in 2022/23, making up 30% of all fatal injuries to workers. Thousands more suffer life-changing injuries each year due to falls that could have been prevented.
This is why No Falls Week 2025, taking place from 13–17 May, is a national campaign that highlights the need for better awareness, safer practices, and a collective effort to eliminate falls in the workplace.
Led by the No Falls Foundation, this annual campaign is a call for employers, site managers, and workers across all industries. Whether you work on scaffolding, ladders, rooftops, or even relatively low platforms, the risks are real—and so are the consequences.
The theme for this year, “Standing Tall – Working Safely”, encourages everyone to review their fall prevention strategies. Employers are urged to carry out updated risk assessments, check equipment, reinforce proper training, and open up conversations about safety culture.
As part of that focus on training, it’s worth considering how accredited courses can play a key role in prevention. At Speedy Hire, we deliver a wide range of industry-recognised training including IPAF and PASMA, helping businesses equip their teams with the right knowledge and skills when working at height.
Participating in No Falls Week is easy and impactful. From hosting toolbox talks to sharing posters and educational resources, every action counts. The No Falls Foundation has provided a free campaign toolkit filled with materials to help you get started.
Let’s not wait for another statistic. Every fall prevented is a life protected. Help us make falls from height a thing of the past by taking part in No Falls Week 2025.
