In order to be a qualified first aider, adequate training must be delivered and the correct testing procedures will be discussed later.

However, appointed persons do not need first-aid training, although should they so wish there are emergency first-aid training courses available to increase skills and prowess in this arena.

The only area that appointed persons can't get involved, whereas first-aiders can, is in cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR.

They should not attempt to give first aid in any sort of area where they have not received training.
