How to Use Battery Powered Circular Saw - Correctly and Safely

If you want to cut wood, chipboard or MDF with ease and precision, then this is what you need. This is a circular saw, and you can hire it from Speedy, the UK’s number one hire company.

Before you use this product, you should make sure you are wearing the correct PPE, eye protection, dust mask, safety boots and gloves are essential before you use this circular saw. Any PPE you do require can be purchased from Speedy.

Step 1:

Our circular saws come with a number of features to help you make your tasks as efficient and as safe as possible.

Step 2:

Every circular saw will come with an adjustable guide that will use the edge of what you are cutting to help keep your cuts straight, a depth adjuster at the rear here can be set dependent on the thickness of the wood you are cutting and an angle adjuster here allows you to angle the edge of your cut, now all of these can be adjusted by loosening the levers or capped screws, setting your desired measurement and then tightening them back up.

Step 3:

This circular saw is battery powered and when you receive it from Speedy it will come with a battery and a charger. Fitting the battery is really easy and can be done by simply slotting it into the bottom of the saw and listening out for a click. However, when you are making adjustments to the circular saw you should always make sure the battery is removed.

Step 4:

All of our circular saws will come with a blade already installed that is ideal for general use, that blade will be covered by a spring-loaded guard, the guard will automatically reveal the blade as you make your cut. When you lift the saw away from the wood that you are cutting, the guard will spring back into place to cover the moving blade. This is a safety mechanism and has been designed to prevent you from coming into contact with the blade. You should never manually lift this guard whilst the saw is operational.

Step 5:

You will also notice a black tube coming off the circular saw. Step 6:

Using the circular saw could not be easier, just make sure you are holding the saw with both hands, ensuring you have a good strong grip on it. When you are ready to make your cut, press the safety switch with your thumb and then squeeze the trigger with your index finger, and away you go.
