Light Plant Engineer

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Light Plant Engineer to take overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant equipment returned to the St Austell Depot. Ensuring that all work undertaken is safe and complies with Speedy Services safety standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Inspection, testing, maintenence and repair of plant equipment including JCB's, Dumpers, Diggers and Tower Lights.
  • Providing technical assistance to Depots and Customers as may be required from time to time
  • Completion of transfer sheets, test tickets and all associated inspection, repair and maintenance paperwork
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair requirements of the Company’s product range
  • Supporting the Workshop Manager/ Foreman including in the training of Depot and other Workshop Employees in the safe use, inspection and testing of hire equipment
  • Keeping the Workshop safe, tidy and well organised

 

Ideal Candidate
  • You will have previous experience as a mechanical engineer working on light Plant equipment such as  JCB's, Dumpers, Diggers and Tower Lights.
  • Proven mechanical engineering experience
  • strong diesel engine knowledge preferred
