Post hole borers can make light work of your garden projects, and although they look intimidating, using them could not be easier. This borer is powered by a petrol engine, and requires two stroke petrol, so when you receive it from Speedy it will come with this small bottle of two stroke oil. What you will need to do is add this oil to the petrol and give it a shake before you put it into the machine. If you’re unsure about what ratio to use, just check the bottle for instructions. Filling the borer up can be done by removing the cap and simply filling it with fuel.
Starting the borer is really straight forward. To begin with you will need to place the trigger into the on position. Next you will need to prime the engine, to do this compress the pump located here 4 or 5 times and then finally slide the choke lever into the on position. Now you should lie the borer on the floor, using your foot to secure it in place and pull the cord, don’t worry if it doesn’t start straight away, it might just take a couple of pulls. Once the engine has started, lift the borer up and slide the choke lever back into the off position.
Place the borer into position over the area you want to create a hole and simply squeeze the trigger. Turning the borer off can be done by hitting the rocker switch on the handle. Be really careful not to touch anything other than the handles, as the engine on the borer will be really hot.
If you have any issues with any of the products you hire from Speedy, just give your local Service Centre a call, as we are always available to help, and remember to always check the safety and operating guidance before you use any hire product.
