Intelligent Community

Speedy is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate.  We also directly support our people who fundraise for local charities.

Our community and charitable activity is overseen by our Charities Committee.

Speedy's two main charity partners reflect issues close to the heart of our people, young people and those who have suffered loss or hardship through working in the construction industry.

Our charity partners are:

WellChild

Supporting disadvantaged young people was put forward by our employees as an area where they would like Speedy to make a difference; WellChild has proven to be an excellent partner.  WellChild help sick children and their families across the UK , achieving outstanding outcomes from their limited resources.

WellChild is also a fantastic partner in terms of engaging our people, from the CEO through to people working out of local depots, providing the opportunity for engagement across our business and the real sense of achievement for all involved.

In 2016, Speedy was delighted to be awarded the WellChild Volunteer Award for our support of its Helping Hands programme. We provide the tools, equipment and volunteers to renovate sick children’s homes and gardens of children supported by WellChild, with the aim of improving their quality of life.

The Charity supports the construction community through three specific areas:
